Stimulus Schmimulus!

Sorry for the tardiness of this blog. I have been extremely busy sending resumes out and filling out applications...since I have become one of the 14.5 million unemployed (or 9.4%)...due to President Obama's economic recovery ("stimulus") plan...to "save or create" millions of jobs. But like so many other aspects of the current administration, it looks like the stimulus plan has not only created phony claims, it has created phony expectations within the American people. And a pretty good job of trickery too!

Just like the famous quote goes, "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig", I like to say, "You can put the most liberal politician in the White House, but he's still the most liberal politician!"

Until next time...

The Empowerment Experiment?

I don't get it. But let me first say this...in no way am I racist. Which is why I find this article intriguing. I see this article possibly two ways...
  1. Is it like going to Wegmans/Giant Eagle/Quality/Kroger/your choice of grocers and paying an arm and a leg for organic food? It's a 'fad' or the 'healthy thing to do' so that's all you buy, or
  2. Is it considered reverse racism? What if caucasians pledged to only shop and purchase from stores owned by white people?

I understand that this (#2), more than likely, happens without even knowing it, but what if we openly and publicly announced that we will not support any black-owned businesses, and decided to call it an 'Empowerment Experiment'? Do you think Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be on all the news stations crying about another act of racism?! Of course!

Signing off for the night...Let me hear your thoughts...

Watch Out Spendy Wives

This is a very interesting article. In no way am I supporting this behavior (of both parties), but it really makes you think...how much should I spend? For these ladies that have x amount of spending money, you'd think these thoughts would be going through their heads:
  • "I only have this much money...why should I want to spend more than that? I don't want to disrepect my dear, hard-working husband."
  • "I live in a country where fingers are chopped off for shoplifting...I wonder what will happen to me if I spend beyond my limits?"

Try to apply this concept to our spending habits and see how much debt will accumulate. We may be surprised what a budget and a little rosy cheeks will do. :)

Of course, this shouldn't apply just to women. I think any guy buying abayas or other women's clothing for himself should be slapped in the face.

A Tribute To Mom

First of all, I just want to say how much I love my mom, and how much I love the mother of my children. They mean so much to me. This special weekend is one of the most, if not THE most, important weekends of the year, in my opinion. This song (The Perfect Fan) tells it all:

"You showed me how to love
You showed me how to care
And you showed me that you would always be there
I wanna thank you for that time
And I'm proud to say you're mine

'Cause Mom you always were...the perfect fan.
I love you Mom"

Happy Mother's Day to all of you out there!

Huge Fan Of Miss USA Pageant

I'm sure you have heard all the buzz about how Miss California Carrie Prejean 'lost' the pageant on the final question. For those not tuned in, the question was about her opinion on gay marriage. And what she gave was her opinion...how she believes marriage should remain between a man and a woman.

Kudos Ms. Prejean! Kudos!! It's amazing how someone can be ridiculed for stating their opinion, when no derogatory or judgemental statements were ever made. Way to stick up for your beliefs, even though the guns are pointed at you now. Let's all take a lesson from her answer and stand up for what we believe in.

American Bias...I Mean Idol

Is it just me or did it seem like Tuesday's American Idol was just a tad bit biased? First of all, when the theme is Rock they teamed the two 'rockers' (Adam and Allison) together and the two 'non-rockers' (Kris and Danny) together. One of the groups is in their comfort zone, the other is not. Then the judges just couldn't say enough about Adam and Allison...WELL OF COURSE NOT! That's what you set them up for! And why wouldn't the duets sing last, after all 4 have been judged. Unfortunately for Kris and Danny, they had to perform their individual performances after their beating from the judges.

And by the way Adam, the 1980's called...they want their makeup and hair-do back.

When Will Justice Rain Down?

How many more stories similar to this one (courtesy of Fox News) will we have to put up with before justice is served to these low-lifes?

IMHO (In My Humble Opinion for those who don't know the language of texting), how can we expect a country, yes - our great land, that does not protect the life of the unborn protect the life of a 4-month old or a 4-year old or a 14-year old or a 40-year old?!?! Until we see more punishment to these criminals, less privileges in prison, and maybe even the death penalty, we might as well get used to these horrific stories.
